Mia Root (NSA 2011) signs with SDSU

“I went on my eurotour with nsa in 2011 when i was 11. This was the absolute best experience of my life. For every soccer junkie, coming to Europe and experiencing their atmosphere is amazing. I loved seeing everywhere we went filled with kids and adults kicking a soccer ball around and playing pick up games!

We first played in the Dana Cup and won first place and where i won man of the match. It was an experience i will never forget. We traveled to Sweden on a ferry and let me tell you that was such a fun experience and the food was great! In Sweden we reached the semifinals but fell short. All in all this experience really built me as a player and person. I got to see the lifestyle of others in different countries and i made so many friends that i will cherish forever. This was my first ever big soccer experience. This led me to going to ID2, national team training center camps, state team PDP, traveling back to Europe and visiting Scotland and England, and lastly committing to SDSU my sophomore year.

I had gone to many other campus’s and fell in love with the schools i saw, but nothing made me feel more at home than San Diego State. The soccer environment there is amazing and i have amazing coaches that i can talk soccer to all day.

To all you future NSA players, i highly suggest you take part in the eurotour. It is an experience that you will never forget and an experience that will leave you a lasting impact on your life. The Eurotour helped me fall in love more with a sport i had already loved so much. It had made me respect others from all over the world.”   MIaMiaRoot_SDSU
